Unfortunately a lot of time this week went into the administrative issues, namely trying to convince the administration of Edinburgh University to pay us (me and a fellow EuroSPIN student Maria) our scholarships. This should now finally be resolved (at least the most burning issue), so I would be able to focus more to the project.<\/p>\n
Besides this I have read a review paper on dendritic computation [1], and did some more literature search to get a better idea of what is out there at the moment (I have more candidates for reading), mostly connected to dendritic computations. I’ve put out a general question within the public section of this blog (category: Questions<\/a>) – since it is public it is written in more\u00c2\u00a0layman\u00c2\u00a0language.<\/p>\n As a part of the “dendritic search” I have found a relevant conference<\/a> to the project. I would surely like to join it, but it is expensive and in US. There is a chance to ask for travel grant from the conference, though.<\/p>\n I started looking into correlated input generation and specifically started to implement the solution by Ho&Destexhe [2] in Python. As I will be using Neuron with Python this seems like the best option.<\/p>\n I have also been setting up this reporting tool (the blog), trying to make it as useful as possible.<\/p>\n 1.
